Mediums who serve the Spiritualist Association of Great Britain
JOHN JEMMETT I was born in south Wales and have many experiences of working with the Spirit World, having inherited from both my parents a true understanding of my Celtic heritage as I am descended from welsh and Cornish roots. I have studied membership for many years by sitting in circles, for various types of mediumship from self-development, platform speaking, clairvoyance, private sittings, trance and physical mediumship. I have attended many training courses with many well-known mediums. I have also studied Shamanic Studies with the Isle of Avalon foundation based in Glastonbury. Having served the spiritualist movement for over 30 years as a working medium, undertaking Divine services, demonstrations of mediumship, private sittings, assessments, and the running and organizing of church circles. I am an ordained One Spirit Interfaith Minister. I was ordained in July 2015 after 2 years Seminary training. I was taught about interfaith work, world major religions and planning and performing the rites of passage in a person’s life, naming of children/adults, the marking of passage from childhood to adulthood, marriage ceremonies for all sections of the community and funerals. What the training taught him was how to tailor the ceremonies to fit with what the people were seeking, the help required by John was to advise on content and spiritual dimensions. Having undergone this training my title is now Reverend John Jemmett.
GEOFF HAYWARD C.S.N.U. L.S.S.N.U. I.S.M./K.A.M. Geoff’s mediumship has taken him to Canada, Sweden, Germany, Austria, Denmark, Switzerland, Norway, Portugal, Belgium and Japan. As well as all over the British Isles. Geoff who developed his gifts at Bournemouth’s Spiritualist church, holds awards from the Spiritualists’ National Union, and the Institute of Spiritualist Mediums. Geoff has been a medium for over forty years, and has served the Association for the last thirty. Geoff offers private sittings and workshops with us. He also works regularly with Hilary Smith our Psychic artist, demonstrates, and holds Open Circles and Open Platforms on a regular basis. JOANNE JIMENEZ Hypnotherapist and counsellor Joanne currently runs her own practice based in Sussex. Joanne’s life changed in the early 90’s when she met the great medium Ivy Northage. This meeting became a turning point, and Joanne became a student under the tutelage of Mary Poulton, and went on to develop mediumship and healing gifts at the SAGB. Joanne, also a qualified SAGB healer, has demonstrated in the UK, Ireland, Spain, and all over Japan. Joanne currently offers workshops, counselling, regression, and hypnotherapy at the Association. GEORGE LAWSON George was born in Glasgow and moved to Essex at the age of four. He is a very sincere and hard working ambassador for Spirit. He is clairvoyant and clairaudient, and has a wonderful understanding of the Spirit World. George has worked all over the UK, and extensively in Europe. George has a great understanding of the philosophy of Spiritualism, and tries to bring this to his everyday living. PAULINE MASON Pauline has been mediumistic since the age of twelve. Since childhood Pauline has developed her gift of mediumship, and now works all over the UK and Europe giving sittings, demonstrating and taking workshops. Pauline says “my greatest pleasure is witnessing the joy on peoples faces after offering guidance and delivering messages from their loved ones in Spirit.” Pauline also officiates at weddings, and takes Spiritualist funerals in her local area of Kent. HILARY SMITH Now retired from a busy career as a nurse and midwife, psychic artist Hilary trained to be a medium at the SAGB , and has shared her gift with others for the past fifteen years. Hilary works together with Geoff Hayward and other mediums offering Psychic Art demonstrations, once a month on Sundays at 5pm.
TERRI STROMEYER Terri first realised she could see and hear Spirit at the age of seven. She trained under the tutelage of Ivy Northage and Ursula Roberts, and has been a working medium for over twenty years. Terri has taught and demonstrated mediumship in churches and theatres throughout the South of England, and internationally. She has appeared on television and had her own radio show on “Wave 105” as well as writing features for national newspapers and magazines. Terri very much believes in merging Eastern philosophies and techniques with Western Spiritualism, in order to create deeper levels of atunement. Terri also trained as a Samaritan, which taught her to listen and not judge. Terri offers private sittings, demonstrations and workshops with the Association. TERRY TASKER Terry has worked as a medium and healer since 1968. On starting work at the SAGB in 1995, Terry became a full time medium for Spirit. An experienced demonstrator, and teacher of all forms of mediumship, including Physical. Terry is also course organiser and tutor of the SAGB’s Healing Course, and a tutor and assessor for Kent International Healers Association. Terry’s work has taken him to Belgium, Japan and Germany, as well as the UK. Terry offers private sittings, private healing and workshops at the SAGB. STEVE WOODS Steve had a busy daily life running a successful business, when one day out of the blue, a long lost family member turned up on his doorstep. Reg, who had been a medium for fifty years, told Steve that he had work to do in the Spirit world. Steve then began his training to become a healer and medium at Romford Spiritualist church, and from that day on, still works throughout the South East of England. Steve says “from that moment on my life changed forever. The guidance, love and knowledge that the Spirit world have given me has transformed my life. Working for the Spirit world is a great honour for me, and now that I am retired, look forward to devoting my time to serving Spirit daily.” Steve offers private sittings and demonstrations with the Association. DOROTHY YOUNG CSNU Dorothy has had a full and busy life, being once a nurse and then building and running a successful business. The joy has been the realisation of her gift of mediumship and healing. She is passionate about her work for Spirit, taking church services and demonstrating her mediumship within the south of England. She takes each opportunity very seriously to give accurate evidence of survival from those who wish to communicate through love, to us. She has attended numerous courses for the advancement of her ability including the Arthur Findlay College. She holds the Certificate of Recognition with the SNU in speaking and demonstrating. Dorothy takes open platforms, open circles, demonstrations, workshops and private sittings at the Association on a regular basis. MERCEDES GARCIA I have always been drawn to spiritual matters and started to communicate with Spirit since 1973. I studied mediumship for some years. My interest in mediumistic development lead me to the SAGB where I studied under the guidance of many great mediums. I am now a medium and development tutor at the SAGB. My style of teaching is gentle and encouraging and it is very gratifying to watch students develop and find their own unique voice. I consider myself to be most fortunate to be able to pass on the deep wisdom that is Spirit Communication and to inspire others from my extensive experience working with this wonderful 'system' as a navigator into self discovery and higher consciousness.
LEONARD TATT Leonard grew up in a Roman Catholic family and has always been interested in the spiritual journey in whatever shape or form that may take. Leonard has had some major turning points in his life, all of which have led to major transformative experiences. He became involved in spiritualism in 1991 and was heavily involved for many years, becoming a tutor at the Arthur Findlay collage. However, this was only a stage on the journey which continued to unfold. Leonard became a Roman Catholic priest after studying for four years in Rome, then he gained a Master’s degree in Theology from the university of London having studied at Heythrop College In Kensington. Leonard has a keen interest in Philosophy, Psychology and personal development. His interest stems from a love of God and he sees God as permeating all life. Leonard’s work is concentrated on trying to understand the spiritual journey more fully and to live it out as best he can and loves to help other people understand how God works in their lives. He endeavours to look at the connection within religious and spiritual thought. Whilst Leonard’s work is Christian based, he has found ways of thinking that inspire him in other schools of thought and tries to bring that to his work.
PETER SMITH As a child Peter realised he could see and hear Spirit from the age of seven. Through a busy career in engineering he was always aware of Spirit working with him to help others. After starting a very successful business working for himself, Peter became aware that Spirit wanted to work closely with him to help others. Peter developed his mediumship with tutors at the SAGB, and now offers demonstrations and Sunday Services in and around the Home Counties. Peter is clairvoyant and clairaudient and finds great pleasure in proving survival after this life to those who have lost loved ones. RICHARD CHAPMAN
An experienced spiritual medium and tutor, Richard has been working with and developing his spiritual and mediumistic abilities for many years, using his spiritual awareness and mediumship to serve churches and spiritual centres around the UK, as well as providing private sittings for individuals and groups of People. Since his early teenage years, Richard has had a growing awareness of spirit and the spiritual realm. He feels humbled to be able to serve those in need and those people who are searching for explanations or help with their spiritual growth. There are many people who are afraid and uncertain of what happens after physical death, Richard’s spiritual awareness and knowledge can help people to move forward with their life and also increase the spiritual understanding. Richard is a firm believer that you should never stop learning and developing, both in a mediumistic and spiritual way. With this in mind Richard’s passion is the development of both himself and others by teaching development groups and instructing at workshops on various aspects of mediumship and spirituality.
PAM AKBAS Pam began developing her mediumship at the SAGB in 2011. During this time she has sat in closed circle with several of the SAGB mediums who individually encouraged and enhanced her Spiritual development. Pam has demonstrated her mediumship publicly on Open Platform at the SAGB and in Spiritualist churches around London and the South Coast of England. Pam is Clairvoyant, Clairsentient and Clairaudient. She is also a fully qualified SAGB Spiritual healer. Pam takes Sunday Services and evening demonstrations on a regular basis at the Association.
STEPHEN GOLDSACK Aware of spirit from early childhood my Mediumistic journey started in my late teens. I enjoy sharing my connection with spirit through private settings public demonstrations and teaching people to recognise and develop their own relationship with spirit. Really is a joyous gift seeing students progress within there own connection to spirit I am a firm believer of evidential mediumship to convey the emotion and essence of the spirit communicator to bring truth comfort and to represent spirit how this wish to be conveyed. Publicly demonstrating my mediumship at spiritualist churches and venues across the UK and internationally and now with the SAGB. Also working virtually via Zoom, telephone. I’m always pleased to connect with spirit and enjoy the versatility of them embracing new ways to connect us all whether it be an in person sitting or a remote virtual sitting.
STEVE NEWTON Steve has been in Spiritualism since his teenage years and served churches up and down the country as a platform medium. He is an accomplished medium and tutor with a passion for Trance Mediumship. He is also an award-winning musician who uses his music to heal and help others in their spiritual development. Steve also has an interest in Shamanism and other esoteric fields of thinking which brings innovative ways to the development of mediumship. “My biggest joy is to see the progress of others on this spiritual path.”
MAXINE TEMPLE Maxine was the child that chatted to herself a lot and always had imaginary friends. In all her school reports the same refrain "to not daydream". At age 17 her boyfriend’s father died suddenly. His spirit began bothering Maxine. He rattled the blind in her bedroom. Turned lights on and off and moved objects. She couldn't sleep as what seemed to be car headlights were racing towards her all night, every night. One day whilst out Maxine walked in a trance state into the Eltham Spiritualist church. As she pushed open the doors and came to, the church President came to her and explained what was happening. She sat in their circle group and in the first sitting spoke in a deep trance state. Maxine has had a life filled with circle groups and training courses within spiritualism. She met and worked with greats in her youth from Coral Polge to Eileen Roberts of the ISM. Maxine wrote the book Lightstations completely with automatic writing. She now teaches both mediumship and trance (channelling) internationally. She holds evenings whilst in a trance state with spirit philosophy and Q&A's from the floor. She runs a circle group and gives readings internationally. The pursuit of demonstrating that life is eternal is her joy. CHARLOTTE HILL Like so many, I have always been aware of spirit from a very young child. I put it to the back of my mind so many times and carried on with my day, but spirit always found a way of making me more sensitive to them. Through changes that we all go through in growing up, having children, work commitments, spirit have always pushed me back onto the right path and helped on my developing path. I have developed for many years by attending courses and sitting in circles. During COVID I had an awakening which I can remember like it was yesterday! One of my guides came to me and told me what was in store for me once COVID lockdown was over. They asked one thing of me......to have absolute trust in their guidance and they will deliver me to where I need to be. How could I ignore such a thing!! They certainly haven't let me down and it's been an amazing two years, full of serving spirit. I am now in my 3rd year of being a professional working spiritual medium. I have worked at many churches, centres, and private functions and venues bringing the two worlds together and providing comfort to those who need it. I work with absolute honesty; pure love and compassion and I bring forward your loved one's characters and funny traits. It's an absolute honour to be given this gift and I certainly do not take it for granted, I am sincere with my readings and most of all I care. IRENE UPTON My name is Irene Upton and I am a Spiritual Artist and Medium. I became aware of spirit as a young child. They were the ones that consoled me when I was afraid of the dark. My grandmother taught me how to read the playing cards as a teenager, but it wasn't untill my early 20's that I began learn about and tarot and oracle cards. It was another 20 years that passed before those in the Spirit World got my attention and inspired me to attend a local spiritualist church. It was from there that I quickly started to develop my mediumship and embark on my spirit art journey. So after many years of study and practice I can give evidential sittings to prove the survival of an individual once they have passed to Spirit and draw their likeness in the form of a portrait. I am passionate about art and creativity. Spirit influence my work especially when working on Auragraphs and other Psychic Art. I love to inspire others and one way I do this is by running and hosting workshops on Spirit Art. I have been lucky enough to study at the world renowned Arthur Findlay College, and have been taught by some of the best tutors in the fields of mediumship and spirit art.

MAXINE TEMPLE Maxine was the child that chatted to herself a lot and always had imaginary friends. In all her school reports the same refrain "to not daydream". At age 17 her boyfriend’s father died suddenly. His spirit began bothering Maxine. He rattled the blind in her bedroom. Turned lights on and off and moved objects. She couldn't sleep as what seemed to be car headlights were racing towards her all night, every night. One day whilst out Maxine walked in a trance state into the Eltham Spiritualist church. As she pushed open the doors and came to, the church President came to her and explained what was happening. She sat in their circle group and in the first sitting spoke in a deep trance state. Maxine has had a life filled with circle groups and training courses within spiritualism. She met and worked with greats in her youth from Coral Polge to Eileen Roberts of the ISM. Maxine wrote the book Lightstations completely with automatic writing. She now teaches both mediumship and trance (channelling) internationally. She holds evenings whilst in a trance state with spirit philosophy and Q&A's from the floor. She runs a circle group and gives readings internationally. The pursuit of demonstrating that life is eternal is her joy.

Like so many, I have always been aware of spirit from a very young child. I put it to the back of my mind so many times and carried on with my day, but spirit always found a way of making me more sensitive to them. Through changes that we all go through in growing up, having children, work commitments, spirit have always pushed me back onto the right path and helped on my developing path. I have developed for many years by attending courses and sitting in circles. During COVID I had an awakening which I can remember like it was yesterday! One of my guides came to me and told me what was in store for me once COVID lockdown was over. They asked one thing of me......to have absolute trust in their guidance and they will deliver me to where I need to be. How could I ignore such a thing!! They certainly haven't let me down and it's been an amazing two years, full of serving spirit. I am now in my 3rd year of being a professional working spiritual medium. I have worked at many churches, centres, and private functions and venues bringing the two worlds together and providing comfort to those who need it. I work with absolute honesty; pure love and compassion and I bring forward your loved one's characters and funny traits. It's an absolute honour to be given this gift and I certainly do not take it for granted, I am sincere with my readings and most of all I care.
My name is Irene Upton and I am a Spiritual Artist and Medium. I became aware of spirit as a young child. They were the ones that consoled me when I was afraid of the dark. My grandmother taught me how to read the playing cards as a teenager, but it wasn't untill my early 20's that I began learn about and tarot and oracle cards. It was another 20 years that passed before those in the Spirit World got my attention and inspired me to attend a local spiritualist church. It was from there that I quickly started to develop my mediumship and embark on my spirit art journey. So after many years of study and practice I can give evidential sittings to prove the survival of an individual once they have passed to Spirit and draw their likeness in the form of a portrait. I am passionate about art and creativity. Spirit influence my work especially when working on Auragraphs and other Psychic Art. I love to inspire others and one way I do this is by running and hosting workshops on Spirit Art. I have been lucky enough to study at the world renowned Arthur Findlay College, and have been taught by some of the best tutors in the fields of mediumship and spirit art.
